Shortcut Studio is a free-to-use Android application supported by advertisements and analytics. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app. Shortcut Studio performs package scanning and shortcut creation locally on your phone, while integrating trusted third-party advertising and analytics services to keep the app free.
2. Advertising partners and bidding mediation
To provide Shortcut Studio as a free app, we display advertisements served through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) along with third-party mediation and bidding partners.
- Primary Ad Network: Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).
- Bidding and Mediation Partners: Meta Audience Network (Facebook) and Unity Ads.
- Advertising Identifiers: These advertising partners may collect and use your device's Android Advertising ID (AAID/GAID), IP address, and general device information to serve, optimize, and measure relevant advertisements.
3. Analytics and crash reporting
Shortcut Studio uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app performance, diagnose technical crashes, and improve user experience.
Analytics data includes anonymized usage metrics, screen views, crash trace logs, and basic device information. No personal identity data or private shortcut contents are collected.
4. On-device package scanning and permissions
Shortcut Studio uses the Android QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission to show installed apps so you can create custom shortcuts.
- Local execution: Installed app listing and shortcut creation occur strictly on your Android device.
- No package data collection: Installed application names, activity intent names, and app icons are never uploaded to servers or shared with ad networks.
5. Local data storage and backup
Shortcut preferences, custom labels, and icon shape choices are saved locally in your phone's isolated app storage. Exported JSON backup files remain in your local device folders.
